Industry
It is the aim off this project to establish a sustainable community as per the wishes of the committee and the community. At first glance the area commonage can be developed into a lucrative industry with exports of protea, fynbos, teas and herbs.This exercise will be supported by the department of trade and industries and will draw support from surrounding communities like Nature’s Valley.
Marketing
Marketing The products produced in Covie can be marketed locally but especially overseas with the support of the department of trade and industries Holland will only be to willing to give preference to Protea and herb imports from Covie.Tourism
It is the intention of SAN Parks to build a tourist lodge at the entrance to Covie and to utilize labour from Covie.Tourists will also be encouraged to visit Covie and buy from Covie vendors.
The mild climate, absence of tropical diseases and the exceptional variety of the area attract tourists to the Southern Cape coast.
